So who are we?
We are Sepu (Karl) & Hanna — two genuine devotees of wine and spirits! We enjoy every aspect of this field: the flavours, the aromas, the colours, the food pairings, the conversation, the events.
Sepu’s passion for drinking culture comes from his father. You could say he was born with a glass of cognac in hand.
Hanna discovered how exciting the world of wine is while working in her sister’s restaurant in Tallinn. Love for wine and spirits is practically in our blood, which is probably why the field pulls us in so strongly.
Educated? Oui! Five years en France.
To really get to know the world of wine we first moved to France — to Bordeaux, the wine capital, of course. We studied winemaking and wine marketing at the University of Bordeaux, and we can proudly say we went through the best schools in the field.
About the name
Choosing a name is always hard. We tried it this way and that, and somehow nothing quite fit — until, at the least expected moment, one great idea arrived.
We knew we wanted a painting by Katrin Karu on the wall of our atelier. When we called to ask her permission, it turned out her art studio was near our future wine bar. And when we said “how lovely, so it is very close to visit us at our wine atelier”, we immediately caught ourselves thinking that this was exactly the right name.
We do not make wine in our atelier, but we do present the best wines of the old world, chosen to our taste. And perhaps now and then we will manage to present you some painting alongside the art of wine.
